  25. This theme is based on the hallucinating screensaver made by JX Bardant.
  26. Please read the following instructions and the original Electric Readme text (5).

  36. 1) System Requirements:
  37.  
  38.   -WindowsNT or Windows95
  39.   -Microsoft MS-Plus!
  40.   -Hi-color Video card
  41.   -8-bit stereo Sound card
  42.

  45. 2) Installation:
  46.  
  47.   -Unzip the "Electric (high color)" zip file to
  48.    C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\ or your standard theme folder
  49.   -Copy the file "electric!.scr" to your C:\Windows\System folder
  50.   -Go to the MS-Plus! Desktop Themes icon in your system's control panel.
  51.   -Choose the "Electric (high color)" Theme

  55. 3) Startup and Shutdown screens:
  56.  
  57.   -If you have never copied the following files to a secure folder,
  58.    DO IT NOW! These are the files for your startup and shutdown screens:
  59.  
  60.    C:\Logo.sys
  61.    C:\Windows\Logow.sys
  62.    C:\Windows\Logos.sys
  63.  
  64.   -If you can't find them it's because they are hidden.
  65.    Choose "Options" somewhere in your Windows Explorer and set up your
  66.    system to view all file types.
  67.   -Now you should be able to find the above mentioned files.
  68.   -Once you've copied them you just replace all three files by the ones
  69.    that came with the zip file. Do this:

  71.    Copy the Electric "Logo.sys" to C:
  72.    Copy the Electric "Logow.sys" to C:\Windows
  73.    Copy the Electric "Logos.sys" to C:\Windows

  77. 4) Additional stuff:

  79.    You'll find a second wallpaper and an icon for your 3.5" drive in the
  80.    folder where you unzipped the theme.

  91. This program is ABSOLUTE FREEWARE. You have nothing to pay to me.

  93. This program comes with absolutely NO WARRANTY, more especially
  94. not any warranty about saving anything...

  96. 2 Installation
  97. --------------
  98. Just copy the file "electric.scr" to your \windows\system (95)
  99. or \windows\system32 (NT) directory and choose "electric" from
  100. the control panel.
  101.  
  102. 3 Configuration
  103. ---------------
  104. Electric requires Windows 95 or Windows NT, version 3.51 or more. 
  105.  
  106. Electric is a computing intensive screen saver.
  107. Although the first version was developped for a 486/66 machine with a 1024*768 display,
  108. the performance will be better with a Pentium and a 640*480 video configuration. 
  109.  
  110. The animation of the images will only run if your video configuration is set to 256 colors.
  111. With True Color or 16 bit configuration Electric will only display static images.
  112. With a 16 colors configuration, the result will be just terrible. 
  113.  
  114. Does it mean that you have to drop True Color and high resolution
  115. to change your video setting down to 640*480 pixels with 256 colorsá?
  116. The answer is definitely no. Since version 1.2, Electricá! is able
  117. to change automatically the video resolution at startup,
  118. by using Microsoft's DirectX.
  119. You can keep your usual configurationá; all you have to do is to
  120. install Microsoft's DirectX and to check the "Allow DirectX
  121. display mode change" box in Electric!'s settings.
